Minister Brenda Locke hails from Cormorant, Mississippi (just south of Memphis, TN) and is the daughter of the late Mitchell and Louise Hunter. She comes from a large family of eight other siblings. She is married to Alfred Locke and they are the parents of three adult children. They have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Â
Minister Brenda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 12. While living in Columbus, Ohio, Minister Brenda attended the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted her calling in ministry on January 2002 and was later licensed to serve in January 2005. She served in various roles including: the Food Pantry Ministry, Pastor’s Partners Ministry, Bible Study Teacher, Women Ministry Chairperson, and Sunday School Teacher. Â
The family moved from Ohio to Virginia where they joined the Land of Promise Church in early 2008. Minister Brenda works under the leadership of her pastor, Dr. James E. King, primarily in the Outreach Ministry where she leads church volunteers in community projects. She is also a part of the Women’s Ministry as one of the ministerial leaders.Â
Minister Brenda served in the federal government for 36 years and retired as a GS-14 on March, 2013. Â
Minister Brenda holds a Bachelors in Business Administration and an MBA with a concentration in Finance. She is also a licensed real estate agent in the state of Virginia.
